The Copa Jerez food and Sherry pairing competition is international in scope, attracting the top chefs and sommeliers from eight countries: the United States, Spain, the United Kingdom, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Belgium and Japan. The winner from each participating country will travel to Spain in January of 2009 to compete in the international finals – a magnificent culinary event that will be judged by the world’s top food and wine experts.

For the American semi-finals, four teams will compete, live, in front of a television crew in December of this year.

Entries are now being reviewed for the 2009 Copa Jerez food and Sherry pairing competition. If you are interested in participating in this prestigious competition in 2010, please send your recipes, with their respective Sherry pairings and a description of why the pairing was chosen, to Sherry Council of America.
